My name is Jamie Pollak and I am a Dietetics Major at the University of Northern Colorado. I am from Arizona and came to Northern Colorado to pursue my softball career at the Division I level. Aside from earning a softball scholarship, the University of Northern Colorado was my number one choice because of the Dietetics program they had to offer. I discovered Dietetics was the perfect degree for me when I realized how much I valued food and the incredible impact that food has on people's health. Since I have been an athlete my entire life, I always knew how important physical activity is for the body. However, as I grew older and began to really think about what people were eating in our world today, I wanted to learn about how one's diet can prevent and treat many diseases and health conditions. My ultimate life goal is to become a registered dietitian and use my passion and knowledge about nutrition to treat patients, educate people, and help others live a healthy lifestyle.
