Career Goals: My first post-graduate goal would be to
be accepted into an internship that is just right for me. It would be even greater
if that internship were the UNC Dietetic Internship. Through networking and
completing my undergraduate degree here at UNC, I would love the opportunity to
continue my life in Greeley, Colorado and experience this exciting career in
the community I have grown to love. I will be qualified for an internship
because of the hard work I put into my schoolwork, my softball career, and the
community. With completing this internship I would be qualified for one of my
professional goals of becoming a Registered Dietitian for collegiate sports
teams. I feel qualified in pursuing this goal because I have been an athlete
all my life, including four years of college softball, and have a history of
elite athletes in my family. I believe I have the knowledge, passion, and
experience to help athletes live a healthy lifestyle. My second career goal
would be to take my career into the clinical setting as well, and help a
variety of people with different types of needs. The clinical setting interests me because the individuals I would be working with will truly be needing my help as their Registered Dietitian while they fight through a range of illnesses and conditions. My ultimate professional goal is to use my knowledge and passion about healthy eating and lifestyles to help as many people as I can. I know I am qualified for reaching my goal of becoming a Registered Dietitian because I am fascinated about the effects of healthy eating and I want to positively influence other peoples’ lives. From athletes to elderly individuals, I see myself being able to help them all. Depending where my life takes me, I would apply to the college athletic programs in my area that are hiring dietitians. I would also look into applying at athlete fitness centers; for example, API is an elite business in Arizona that trains and educates athletes. Lastly, I would also like to apply to local hospitals and work in the clinical area. I see myself working as a Registered Dietitian in many different areas, and I will be able to know when my goal is achieved when I am working as a RD in a field that allows me to influence, help, and change people's lives. |
